NY Resolution: (Finally) deal with my physical photo and video memories
Happy 2023! If you’ve resolved to protect and preserve your memories this year, we’re here to help.
The first step to protecting your memories and getting them into digital files that you can enjoy on today’s technology.
We’ve broken the process—from start to done-and-sent-off-in-the-mail— into 5 bite-sized chunks. When you sign up for the 5-Days To Digitize Challenge, we’ll send you a short email each day to prompt you on that day’s goal. With just a bit of effort over one week, you can have your memories gathered, sorted, and sent off for digitizing.
Here’s a quick peek at the week’s steps:
Day 1: Gather your memories and choose your workspace
Day 2: Do a quick pre-sort of your memories
Day 3: Continue sorting (and enjoy spending time with your memories)
Day 4: Finish sorting and put your memories into their long-term spot
Day 5: Mail your box and celebrate!

Display and Enjoy
Once you’ve done the work and sent off your memories to us, it’s time to think about what you might want to do with them. Displaying them in your house is one obvious way to enjoy them.
Digital Photo Frame
Digital frames are one of the easiest and most loved ways to enjoy your memories—and lots of them—in a very small physical space. Aura frames stand out for their high-end looks and how incredibly easy they are to use. Not only can you add photos from your phone, but you can invite others to add them directly as well.
Memory Wall
If you’ve ever lusted after one of those gorgeous gallery walls, we’re here to help you create one of your own. It’s easier than you think. Start by checking out our blog on the topic of creating your memory wall. It’ll help you dial in on the look you want and then way you through the steps to complete yours.
Watch Party
Throwing a watch party for friends and family is an ideal way for everyone to get to enjoy memories together. You can keep it simple or you can go all out with an elaborate theme that includes costumes, decorations, and on-theme food and drink. Regardless, there are a few tips and tricks to hosting a watch party that works.
Share and Gift
There are so many ways to share your digitized memories with others. Here are just a few of our customers’ favorites:
Share via a photo program like Google Photos
You can share photos with a single click in Google Photos. Or, if you’ve set up partner sharing, it requires no clicks at all! Other photo apps make it simple to share photos too, though each through their own unique methods.
Digital files of your memories mean you can share them as you would any other computer file. Social media, email, messaging apps, Dropbox, SmugMug, iCloud, AirDrop. The list of photo sharing options is goes on. Your digital files mean they are all at your disposal.
Pro tip: You can back up your digital memory files like you do your other computer files–and you definitely should.
Gifts
If you can think of it, there’s likely a business out there that’ll print Uncle George’s face on it—including custom-printed M&Ms. Here are some of the more fun and interesting photo gifts we’ve come across:
• Photos Printed on a Wood Pallet
